When you use IdeaSmokeTest, we collect the following information:

• Account Information: Email address when you submit an idea or create an account
• Idea Submissions: Your product idea, target customer, pricing, geographic market, and language preferences
• Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe (we don’t store card details)
• Analytics Data: Page visits, clicks, form submissions, and conversion metrics for your smoke test landing pages
• Lead Data: Contact information and form submissions collected through your smoke test pages
• Usage Data: How you interact with the platform, features used, and session information

We use your information to:

• Generate Your Deliverables: AI processes your idea to create landing pages, forms, traffic playbooks, ads, emails, and other deliverables
• Host & Deploy: Publish your smoke test landing pages and make them accessible online
• Track Performance: Provide analytics dashboards showing visitor behavior and conversion metrics
• Manage Leads: Store and display contacts collected through your smoke test in the mini CRM
• Generate Conclusions: AI analyzes your smoke test results to provide data-driven insights and recommendations
• Process Payments: Complete transactions and issue refunds when requested
• Provide Support: Respond to questions, conduct personal audits if you get zero traction, and improve our service
• Create Proof of Invention: Timestamp your idea on the Optimism blockchain (note: this is NOT legal IP protection)

We do NOT sell your ideas or personal information to third parties. Your submitted ideas remain confidential.

Your idea submissions are processed by AI models (including OpenAI’s services) to generate your smoke test deliverables. This processing is necessary to provide the service you paid for.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your ideas are treated as confidential business information. We recommend consulting a patent attorney for legal IP protection.

We share your data with trusted service providers who help us operate IdeaSmokeTest:

• Convex: Database hosting and backend infrastructure (USA)
• Vercel: Web hosting and deployment (USA)
• Stripe: Payment processing (global)
• OpenAI: AI content generation for your deliverables (USA)
• Optimism: Blockchain network for Proof of Invention certificates (decentralized)
• Clerk: Authentication and user management (USA)
• Google Analytics: Analytics tracking for your smoke test pages (global)

These providers only access data necessary to perform their services and are contractually obligated to protect your information.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (excluding legally required records)
• Export: Download your data in a portable format (CSV/JSON)
• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
• Object: Object to processing of your data for specific purposes

Note: Blockchain records (Proof of Invention) are immutable and cannot be deleted once published.

We retain your data as follows:

• Active Accounts: Indefinitely while your account remains active
• Deleted Accounts: 90 days after deletion request (backups purged)
• Payment Records: 7 years for tax and accounting compliance
• Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized after 2 years
• Blockchain Records: Permanent (stored on public Optimism blockchain)

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep you logged in to your account
• Remember your preferences and form inputs
• Track analytics for your smoke test landing pages
• Measure conversion rates and user behavior

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may limit platform functionality.

IdeaSmokeTest is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes become effective upon posting. We’ll notify users of material changes via email. Continued use of IdeaSmokeTest after changes constitutes acceptance.
